Vague ideas

My vaguely held values... which are completely made up... which I don’t commit to…

A person's value in the world isn't based on their level of excellence. And it isn't based on their economic value add. And it isn't based on how useful they are to the nation state.

Not in my eyes.

For example, a man might earn 500k per year as a top engineer or architect building bridges and sky scrapers and tunnels. And a woman might be having babies and raising them well and cooking and cleaning. Well... some people might say that her contribution to the world is massive, because babies are needed by and valuable to the country. And therefore it evens out. My opinion is that it doesn't. Or that a woman "adds value" by providing sexual gratification to all and sundry. The value of the sex they offer.

Or maybe men are useful to the nation state by being soldiers and working and women are useful by having babies, raising them and being home makers. Or by providing sexual gratification to all and sundry. The value of the sex they offer.

My opinion is that..

Uhhh.

You're valuable just for showing up. Just for being born. Just for being a person. And the exact level of value is 100 points. And if you're a morally bad person, you're worth ten points (and if you're a criminal, you're worth ten points of value, but you should be in jail).

And I just say people are important just for showing up. And should share approximately equals status.

Maybe CEOs, Politicians, and top bureaucrats should have 5% more status than the normal person. But remain 0% more important.

So people..:

How do we value them as worth 100 points.

Well, we start out with using the IRR and NPV methods of investment.

Figure out an average between the two.

For that we need to know...

The time value of money, rate of abnormal earnings, we need to know the key drivers of business growth. And factor that into our of calculation.

We need to know the risk free returns available in an index fund, and therefore the time value of money. And also the expected inflation rate.

We need to know the level of "risk" inherent in how the stock is traded. And we need to figure out how long the investment is likely to last. We need to look at the type of depreciation method used (units of use etc).

And then we can figure out how to value the people. In a Dollar figure.

Oh wait, it's too hard.

So my estimate is just 100 points each.

And so we just make it up..

It’s all pretend anyway.

It’s all on the basis of, “we just made it up”.
But it’s on the basis of just making it up after reading everything the Greeks, Romans, French, English and Christians and Jews already said on the matter. And studying a variety of matters, subjects and topics. Both formally and informally. In a self directed manner, as well as being taught by others.

And it’s not just men and women. And races. It’s young and old. And (naturally) dumb and (naturally) smart. And educated and uneducated. And people who grew up with bad parents on drugs, or grew up with semi chronic heatstroke..

Also, I hate the conversation in race and “who matters and who is important”. Because there are other conversations, such as amongst whites… like who has a better intellectual scene? Who’s better in science and engineering, who is morally better? Who is more fun, more responsible? Too easily manipulated? Who is lazy, who works hard? Who is greedy, who is generous? Etc. And the conversations on race ignore these really important conversations about infighting (read: debate) between whites. Whites aren’t all the same!!?!? Are Spaniards as excellent intellectually as the Hungarians? On average? And is it language or genetics? And the language thing is massive. And because we ignore these distinctions, we forget that Asia isn’t a copy and paste of Europe/usa in terms of intellectual performance. For example China isn’t even as good as any major European power intellectually. Ever. It’s like… is it even half as good as Austria now or ever? USA is of course the #1 intellectual and scientific powerhouse the world has ever seen, and the entirety of Asia has nothing on it. And Japan is at least 5 times better than China? Maybe ten times better? All conjecture. Ps: fwiw, tests scores are cute (hugs and kittens to China, Singapore and Korea). See Singapore: test scores are a measurement, not the actual thing itself. They matter, but the map isn’t the territory (disclaimer: Singapore has a lot to be proud of, and they’ve come so far, and come extremely well, but the hothouse education of children could be reduced slightly, I reckon it was the right tool for the job then, but maybe it isn’t the right tool forever).
