When did we become human?


Conjecture coming right up!

My theory is that we became human when we learned to talk, have conversations, form language, have consistent words; and form bonds and relationships around all of that conversations and language stuff. And we used it to form close connections, but also to solve problems. Perhaps both real world physical problems but also social problems and dispute resolution. Along with standing upright so that we could see one another's faces while we talked. The face-to-face talkers out competed the non-talkers and survived better and longer to reproduce. And that is how we became who we were.

Perhaps the big difference between us and the monkeys is we have conversations and talk to one another properly, in language. We just formed really, really different ways of relating to one another.

Difference humans and hominids. It's actually software and hardware.

My point of view:

I think it's talking, language, words, conversation, and talking face to face. Connection facilitated by language. And cooperative problem solving facilitated by language.

Ps: Pygmy marmosets. I think we're more like them than bonobos and chimps. Don't ask me why or how. But they're little chatterboxes! And very sociable.

Probably we did evolve from monkeys, not the great apes. But I might be wrong and dumb. It's just guesswork and conjecture. And inference. Extemporaneous bullshitting, but coming from a place of knowledge, understanding and experience.

Without conversation, talking, language, speech, forming words with our lips and speaking the face to face. We probably get dumb. Stupid. Daft. Probably.

It might be a mistake.

Faraday Barn

New updates: the best of these is the “a new and improved faraday barn” (garage). The second best is one labeled “public park”. Easy idea: A new and improved faraday barn (garage) Something like this^ I think it’s the best and smartest option. It’s possibly the best one yet. It’s enough for a single person to live, and it’s all self contained, or can be. If you need more space, just build two garages. Or build a row of eight garages. And if you need more space, just build two rows of eight! Or four rows of eight! Just keep on building! By the way, if you have a block of them. Like 32 of them in rows, then the spaces in between probably are safe to walk around in to socialise. I reckon. Or I would guess. You take the “nook” and finish it with walls, floors and a ceiling. And install a toilet, shower, basin, washing machine and kitchen sink. Sports + martial arts page

Sports and Martial Arts I keep on getting questions about sports and martial arts. So I thought I’d make a page just to get it out of the way. I did some judo, Muay Thai and boxing when I was young. I also played a bit of soccer, table tennis and hockey. I started doing bodyweight exercises and also lifting weights in my teens. I was a good student when I was young. I got good marks and was a fanatical reader. I was very much interested in intellectual and cerebral pursuits, and things that involved the mind (such as computer games). I prided myself on my intellectual abilities and I had an excellent mind. But I also played some sports, and engaged in a number of different physical pursuits.
