Political Theorising

Political Theorising Back a long time ago. When I was still young. I felt that our democracy was a little bit fake, and that it was all run by and controlled by the likes of: big banks, big business, big corporations, bureaucrats, big education, big tech and rich people and the United Nations, and universities. Stuff like that. I don’t know about the fae at the time. And so I thought, what if we had a democracy where the people held sway? Where the normal people held the majority of the power. A real democracy. And so.. yeah, I used to come up with ideas to change our fake democracy into the genuine article.  And over time I went from thinking of just libertarian ideas, to lots of other ideas. And even learning about NZ’s social democratic past. And I thought that sounded nice too. And I learned from that. And it became a hobby and a pastime. And it was something I would work on. Education, this is optional, it is not a “whatever” It is for people living in this “brave new world” of ours. It’s not related heavily to the Chinese situation except by accident. Ummm. You have to read on to find anything you really want. It’s for people who actually intend to educate themselves a bit. **** **** The best ones? Uhhhhh.  The Industrial Revolution lecture series and the great ideas in science course are probably going to be the most beneficial things on this page for a lot of people, because they’ll help you to have a world view that is based upon the material, physical realities associated with the production and provision of goods and services, as well as in the construction and maintenance of our “built environment”. Sorry, that was a little bit of a mouthful. And they’re not too tough. They’re “accessible” for the “normals”. But “smart” enough for almost anyone.
